Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, Brand Governance; the Assistant Manager, Brand Governance will perform a variety of marketing project tasks and support with focus on brand equity building, promotional products management, and advertising. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders throughout the organization (both US and Canada) and requires a strong approach to teamwork, stakeholder management and collaboration.  This individual will assist with the planning, and development of marketing campaigns as well as act as advocate for consistency in how the BMO brand comes to life across Canada and the U.S.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as a steward to help manage and protect the brand, focused on how our brand identity is creatively expressed through visual style and tone of voice
  • Ensures compliance with advertising frameworks and brand standards to include positioning, governance and best practices.
  • Support the development of all brand guidelines and standards are adopted and appropriately applied, and that all documentation stays current, relevant, and available for enterprise use
  • Manage Brand Central enterprise email requests, responding with both strategic and tactical advice grounded in brand standards and business & consumer context 
  • Support the deployment of a quarterly brand newsletter that is distributed via a custom mailing list and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the mailing list
  • Support advertising requests and creative development for Community Affairs, donations, partnership marketing, and advertising needs
  • Help manage the day-to-day activities for BMO’s promotional product vendor relationship to ensure adherence to brand application standards and efficiency in inventory and custom ordering volume and velocity
  • Help manage the day-to-day activities with BMO’s stationary provider, ensuring correct logo application across all assets and act as intermediary between the vendor and line of business to maintain inventory volumes
  • Support the maintenance and updates to the BMO Brand Intranet sites and the BMO Brand Portal website, both built to house brand guidelines and assets for marketing and external agencies
  • Support the development and activation of holistic brand governance measurement framework and reporting approach
  • Ability to work independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
  • Exercises sound judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically, between 1 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Marketing and Customer Communications.
  • Experience in Advertising and/or creative agency.
  • Proven interpersonal and relationship management skills, with ability to influence across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong teamwork orientation, with transparent and collaborative approach to work
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environment, with proven problem-solving capabilities
  • Superior verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.

Salary:

$44,500.00 - $82,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
