About Flutter Functions
The Flutter Functions division is a key component of Flutter Entertainment, responsible for providing essential support and services across the organization. The division encompasses various corporate functions, including finance, legal, human resources, technology, and more, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment throughout the company.
Role Overview:
The Senior Engineering Manager is a key role within Flutter gropup - CPP Edge division. He/She is responsible for designing and delivering software solutions which enable the brands to obtain competitive advantage while providing an exciting and rewarding career development for your teams.
The Senior Engineering Manager will have experience leading teams with a diverse skills set, operating within a Continuous Integration /Continuous Delivery culture, to deliver the CPP Edge Platform roadmap in an iterative manner.
Keeping a continuous focus on growing individuals, building team dynamics, and uplifting agile practices are key success factors.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, as interaction and engagement with senior management will be a regular aspect of the role. This is a technical role, with experience in all aspects of software delivery processes, from inception to release required.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
LEADERSHIP
Own the delivery of initiatives by being fully accountable for the efficient, quality, and effective implementation of the relevant roadmap
Own the product lifecycle and be responsible for managing all delivery risks
Clearly and transparently keeping stakeholders informed and in the loop
Manage and develop a talented team of engineers to deliver a challenging roadmap of initiatives whilst ensuring adherence to open source & co-creation models, community standards and collaborative development practices.
Drive the operation of the team to allow team members to excel and establish career pathways, to continually develop the expertise and leadership within the team, to allow the team to grow and be challenged
Mentoring and coaching team members
PROJECT AND OPERATIONAL DELIVERY
Manage and deliver the strategic initiatives roadmap as well as the operational aspects of the estate
Develop relationships with stakeholders and refine roadmaps for success with product and technology stakeholders
Understand and balance commercial needs against technical requirements and capabilities
Contribute to the assessment, analysis, planning and design of applications within the estate
Ensure the health of Agile principles and practices within the Team
Actively measure and review the Productivity, Velocity, Quality and Duration of delivery, taking
prompt corrective action where necessary
Communication of designs, progress, and achievements across all levels of the organisation
Ensure solutions are appropriately documented, supported and transitioned into BAU
Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and diagnostic skills
Proactive work ethic with the ability to deliver results and meet challenging deadlines
Critical analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Strong multi-task planning ability and organizing of several initiatives at once
High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
Self-motivating and able to motivate others, desire for innovation
Understanding software design principles, development, and deployment lifecycle
Able to contribute to project management and prioritisation efforts
Able to work in a rapid development environment with flexible requirements
Leadership experience and commercial development background ideally in a product organisation
Proven track record of leading and managing teams responsible for product delivery
Hands-on experience with Agile principles and in project delivery
Experience of delivering in a high paced environment
Experience with distributed, redundant and transactional systems and the testing of these;
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or appropriate postgraduate qualification)
5+ years' experience in a similar role
Key working relationships:
This position involves leading a cross-skilled development team and which will have regular contact with teams looking after other aspects of our products & tools.
