Job Description

About the Role

As Director of Data Science, you will manage a team of data scientists who interpret and apply data in analyses and explain findings to business audiences to improve products and processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Direct the evaluation of trends in project demand and the development of service plans to meet demand

  • Cultivate and manage major long-term vendor partnerships to ensure availability of needed solutions talent

  • Lead the development of relevant insights to support the strategies of various business functions

  • Collaborate with analytics teams across Kohl’s to identify and prioritize predictive and descriptive analytics opportunities and produce studies

  • Deploy analytics and/or product management best practices to drive high performance

  • Collaborate with analytics teams to identify and partner on addressing data and analytical gaps and needs

  • Participate in industry and company-wide analytics forums, including development of data strategy and advanced analytics working group

  • Funnel organizational communication and direction to the team and create clear connections to the goals of the department

  • Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in data science or relevant field

  • 5+ years of progressive management experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Masters Degree

  • Advanced Data Analytics experience

  • Retail experience
