Our Asia Pacific Investments business has a large, dedicated and highly experienced investment team which has been investing across the region since 1985, and manages all our Asian products, including regional, country, smaller companies, and sustainable investing propositions.

The team has a strong regional footprint with offices in Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, and Sydney. This breadth gives us close proximity to the companies we own and the markets we invest in. Our APAC operations have been based in Singapore since 1992. We invest in Asian companies to grow with them and to help them to become better investors.



Job Description

Portfolio Management & Investment Strategy

- Leads the management of Thai fixed income portfolios, ensuring strategic alignment and optimal performance.

- Responsible for idea generation to enhance portfolio returns and manage risks across multiple asset classes within Thai and Asian fixed income.

- Oversees investment implementation, ensuring strategies are effectively executed in local currency, credit, and macro portfolios.

Macro-Economic & Market Analysis

- Conducts in-depth macro-economic research on Asian markets, focusing on interest rate movements, currency trends, and economic indicators.

- Formulates interest rate and currency strategies for local currency portfolios and integrates macro strategies into broader fixed income portfolios.

- Actively contributes to the global macro and emerging market strategy discussions within the broader investment team.

Credit Analysis & Security Selection

- Evaluates Thai credit markets, assessing risks, opportunities, and macroeconomic influences on credit spreads.

- Develops macro credit strategies and performs security selection to optimize portfolio exposure.

- Manages Thai credit portfolios, ensuring proper diversification and risk control while identifying attractive investment opportunities.
 

Collaboration & Global Strategy Participation

- Works closely with other investment professionals across the Asia Pacific region, including macro and credit teams.

- Engages in cross-regional collaboration, contributing insights to the global macro and credit processes.

- Enhances coordination between Asian fixed income specialists and broader investment teams to ensure an integrated approach to portfolio construction.
 

Marketing / Business Development

  • To work with the Client Group team to update existing and prospective clients on performance, strategy and outlook and to further promote Aberdeen’s Asian Fixed income capability
     

Portfolio Administration

  • To ensure all investment research and rationales are prepared to a high standard and communicated to team.
  • To assist in the preparation of meeting materials and ensure reporting for client and fund is completed in a timely manner
