This is Ghada Edris - Deputy Supply chain Manager for Svitzer Egypt, we are looking for new Supplychain Specialist to join our team. 

The overall responsibility of this role aims to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of goods and services for the assigned Svitzer operations through internal demand forecasting, supplier relationship management, spend analysis and framework agreements. The governing guidelines to drive these responsibilities would include Svitzer’s Procurement Manual and Maersk Procurement Handbook along with the framework defined by Svitzer IT systems and P2P platforms.

This includes, but is not limited to, P2P process implementation and optimization, logistics as well as general cost and supply optimization of all aspects of Svitzer operations.

Job Description:

  • Understand the Purchase to Pay process and ensure 100% compliance with the same in the Svitzer operation.
  • Follow the No PO No Pay policy for the operation without exception.
  • Strive towards full compliance towards the Svitzer Procurement Manual and Maersk Group policies as well as the Sustainable Procurement and Compliance guidelines.
  • To pursue and execute purchase orders based on incoming requisitions, keeping cost and quality in mind while assuring timely delivery.
  • On occasion, place orders and issue POs on time-critical and prioritized items based on necessary approvals.
  • Evaluate the suppliers based on price, quality, service support, availability, and reliability, thereby adding overall value to the Svitzer operation while constantly searching for new and more competitive alternatives. Where it adds value, set up framework agreements.
  • Monitor, evaluate and optimize the total cost of ownership related to purchased goods and services for the operations, thereby acquiring the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible purchase cost.
  • Actively manage and reduce costs through benchmarking of prices, bulk purchases, consolidation, and timely inventory management.
  • Liaise with authorities, customs and freight forwarding companies to ensure the timely and low-cost logistics of spares and consumables.
  • Track the arrival, confirmation and goods received status of incoming shipments, and ensure that the correct amount of the product or service is received at the appropriate time.
  • Resolve conflicts between vendor and Svitzer regarding product defects, shortages, and/or untimely deliveries.
  • Provide documentation and administrative support to the operations as directed.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the Sertica Procurement database.
  • Optimize the number of active vendors in the operations down to the ones which offer the best-added value and lowest TCO.
