Job Title:                Benefits Analyst (NA Health & Welfare, Retirement & Pension, and Employee Programs, Global Mobility and Global Programs Support)

Position Overview:

The Benefits Analyst is a key team member within the Total Rewards Center of Excellence, focusing on administering, analyzing, and managing Global Benefits Programs, North America (NA) employee benefits programs and Global Mobility. This position provides transactional and operational support to the Total Rewards team, specializing in NA Health and Welfare plans, NA Retirement and Pension plans, Global Mobility, and various employee Global programs, including vacation, leaves, and holiday policy administration. The Benefits Analyst will collaborate closely with employees, HR team members, and external vendors, ensuring the effective delivery of benefits that support the company's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer health and welfare plans, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and health savings accounts.
  • Assist in managing retirement and pension plans, including 401(k), defined benefit, and defined contribution plans.
  • Process and/or manage employee enrollments, terminations, and changes in benefit programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations and internal procedures.
  • Support the development, implementation, and communication of benefit programs and policies.
  • Train and evaluate HR Ops for benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment systems to new and current employees.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to benefits and ensure compliance with all legal requirements (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA).
  • Assists in ensure compliance with all governmental recordkeeping and reporting requirements for Mobility, NA Benefits and Global Benefits programs.
  • Respond to Tier II mobility and benefits inquiries from employees and resolve any issues that arise in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with HR Technology and Global Payroll teams to ensure seamless integration of benefits information and accurate payroll deductions.
  • Assist in analyzing employee benefits data, market data and trends to help with plan design and cost-saving strategies.
  • Coordinate with benefits vendors and third-party administrators to facilitate effective plan operation and to address any service issues.
  • Initiate new Mobility cases with relocation, immigration, and tax vendors.
  • Follow-up on immigration and relocation cases as necessary
  • Maintain Public Access Files for US immigration cases.
  • Share data as necessary with internal stakeholders on mobility cases.
  • Support the Mobility, NA Benefits and Global Benefits’ vendors and consulting firms by submitting invoices to accounts payable on a timely basis and creating new Purchase Orders (PO’s) as necessary.
  • Support the Total Rewards team during the annual open enrollment period, including preparation of materials, presentations, and employee communications.
  • Assist with managing employee leave programs, including vacation, sick leave, and other time-off policies.
  • Participate in benefits surveys and benchmarking studies to analyze competitive positions in the market.
  • Perform regular audits of benefits-related data to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Monitor and respond to Tier II level queries received from HR ticketing system and escalate where appropriate.
  • Maintain Benefits Summaries.
  • Maintain Internet Pages.
  • Participate in the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of HRIS/Workday.
  • Provide operational support for the implementation of new Mobility, NA Benefits and Global Benefits programs, technology, and processes.
  • Administer monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Benefits Administration or a related HR function.
  • Strong understanding of benefit plan designs and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and COBRA.
  • Proficient with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Proficient Workday experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is an asset. 
  • Experience in implementing Total Rewards programs. 
  • Experience with benefit program audits and regulatory reporting. 
  • Must be flexible, work well under pressure, and can adapt to change readily.

Physical Requirements:

This position provides flexibility to work in an office environment or remotely during regular business hours. However, extended hours, such as open enrollment periods, may be required during peak times. Periodic travel may be required for human resources on-site meetings, benefits roadshows, or training.
