What you will do:

Supervises the execution of assigned projects. Follows standardized project management procedures. Assists in the development of the project plan and insures project is completed according to plan. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of project resources. Reviews project reports to identify potential risks.

How you will do it:

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to cavAsia technical operations in Singapore.

  • In charge of cavAsia projects ranging from medium to large size green field and retrofit projects within the Pharma and Semiconductor Industry.

  • Full ownership and accountability of all technical matters which includes engineering, design, construction, project manpower planning and project schedule.

  • Support and work with various project teams / managers (PMs) on the following areas:

  • Ensure they have sufficient manpower to run the project, project manpower planning.

  • Resolve technical, construction and/or EHS issues on site together with the respective team members.

  • Conduct regular meetings with PMs to monitor on the site progress against construction schedule, VO works progress etc.

  • Monitor project team manpower so as to plan and ensure project works will not be severely affected when project staff went on vacation.

  • Work closely with the Commercial Operation Manager on project costing related matters

  • Ensure, maintain and enhance a good and healthy relationship with clients and all stakeholders.

  • Provide technical support to the team during tender stage

  • Drives, support and ensure adherence and compliance to APAC led processes & initiatives to ensure consistency and standardization across country/region

  • Check, review and ensure the PMs will develop and manage detailed project schedules, work plans and track project performance, deliverables and costs to meet project milestones and budgets.

  • Provide technical advice and counsel to Project teams on key day to day activities and associated issues that arise during project execution and delivery.

  • Develops Standard Work Process Procedures for quantity tracking and reporting. Works with Commercial Management to implement a standard quantity reporting work process.

  • Ensure a safe project execution monitor and compile the overall safety performance data

  • Internal functional management including resource planning, performance management and career development of team members, including performing employee assessments, developing succession and personal development plans, and seek out future organizational talent.

  • On a case to case and when needed, perform risk management to minimize project risk and report/escalate to Management as needed with appropriate contingence resolution

  • Provide visibility report to APAC Project Delivery team on Project Health, Risk and Governance of assigned projects

What we look for:

  • University degree in Engineering preferable Process or Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Construction sector (Semiconductor and Pharma Industry) with increasing level of responsibilities within an MNC. 

  • Experience within the overall system design, tendering and value engineering.

  • Advanced knowledge of international Design Codes and Standards.

  • Strong business partnering/interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and work within a multi-discipline team with shared purposes.  Prior experience in leading individuals to work as an effective team is a plus.

  • Possess advanced analytical and objective critical thinking skills with the ability to effectively balance financial and operational needs in order to deliver timely and appropriate solutions to complex business issues.

  • A high degree of proactivity, creativity and latitude is expected.
