Salary Exempt (United States of America)The Inventory Control Manager – AHC is responsible for overseeing inventory control activities at the Sparta Plant along with associated AHC Distribution Centers and maintaining and enforcing corporate inventory control policies and deadlines. This role interacts with staff at all levels to define and carry out inventory control tasks, while identifying efficiencies to improve service levels and minimize inventory losses. The Inventory Control Manager – AHC will strictly adhere to all Altium policies, and relevant laws and regulatory requirements.· Work closely with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Procurement.
· Plan, schedule, and direct cycle counts at the Sparta Plant and associated AHC Distribution Centers per the corporate policy.
· Prepare and manage inventory levels, establish new maximum and minimum inventory limits and dispose of inventories of obsolete or slow-moving materials and products.
· Work with AHC Distribution Center staff and leadership to establish a schedule to count inventory items on a daily or weekly basis.
· Research and document inventory discrepancies and variances including identification of root cause and provide guidance on proper processes to resolve.
· Implement necessary action to mitigate causes of inventory discrepancies.
· Enforce approval levels of inventory variances by Plant Manager and SOD/VIP of Operations.
· Attend and participate in Sparta Plant and AHC Distribution Centers annual cycle counts which are audited by Accounting.
· Provide training and ongoing troubleshooting support for warehouse processes related to Inventory Control and production entry errors.
· Act as a subject matter expert on JDE and RFSmart transactions related to inventory control.
· Coach Plant and Distribution Center leaders and team members on effective problem-solving and best inventory control practices.
· Monitor major quality return transactions to ensure inventory is accurately accounted for and transacted properly.
· Monitor inventory control performance via KPI reports and metrics in Business Objects.
· Report on Plant and AHC Distribution Center performance and provide improvement action plans and implementation dates on missed targets to the Plant Manager and SOD/VP of Operations.
· Compile, analyze and present results to stakeholders including Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Senior Leadership.
· Solicit feedback from internal customers (Sparta Plant and AHC Distribution Centers) on their adherence to inventory control policies and processes.
· Positively contribute to overall Sparta Plant and AHC distribution center operations by identifying areas for continuous improvement and participating in projects to improve processes.
· Participate in all Altium-assigned trainings, communications, and meetings.
· Adhere to Altium requirements for safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Oversee inventory team via hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and performance management.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required
· Associates degree or equivalent work experience in Supply Chain, Inventory, Business, or other related field.
· Ability to act as a subject matter expert on JDE and RFSmart transactions related to inventory control.
· Three to five years of work experience related to inventory control activities.
· Experience with supporting or implementing process improvements.
· Estimated travel is 25%.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Bachelors degree in supply chain or related field
· Certification or work experience with Lean or Six Sigma principles
