We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

PayPal's Risk-as-a-Service team delivers enterprise-scale risk management products that help the world's largest organizations manage risk and fraud. We are seeking a highly motivated and technical individual to join our team of talented and passionate product leaders. You will be responsible for solution identification and defining the next generation of scalable and flexible fraud detection products across PayPal's B2B product offerings.

Risk as a Service at PayPal is a highly available and sophisticated platform that enables the deployment of highly responsive fraud strategies, machine learning experiments, and is optimized to respond proactively to fast-developing cybercrime threats. The Risk as a Service Product Management team thrives in environments where we can help our customers understand and address the complex domain of payments risk management.

The Risk as a Service team owns a suite of risk and chargeback solutions targeted at merchants of all sizes who need to process payments online safely and profitably. We collaborate with data scientists, engineers, sales, legal, customer support and many more to deliver impactful solutions every day.

Your day to day: 

  • Collaborate with customers, internal stakeholders, and teammates to craft compelling product strategies that delight customers and support PayPal's strategic objectives

  • Analyze current customer experiences to define friction points and create seamless and effortless experiences 

  • Develop product roadmaps and work with cross-functional teams (business, program managers, product, development, UX, analytics) 

  • Writes epics, user stories across multiple complex and cross-functional feature/ service areas

  • Writes clear, detailed, and thorough specifications for complex services, features or products

  • Drive product development by building end to end solutions with a team of world-class engineers and designers 

  • Executes on a defined product/service roadmap for one or more service/feature areas. 

  • Creative in designing solutions and recognizes best design practices

  • Develop deep understanding of platform and technology in product area

  • Track and drive timely resolution of open issues

What you need to bring: 

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services with deep working knowledge of risk management and disputes methodologies

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field from an accredited college or university 

  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and thrive in fast-paced environments 

  • Strong problem-solving abilities - you can cut through the noise and laser focus on what really matters 

  • Ability to clearly communicate user experience issues and service specifications to both business and technical audience using requirements documents, use cases and desired outcomes

  • Experience working with the payments industry is desirable. Experience in risk or fraud would be an added advantage 

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative methodologies to understand customers and an ability to explore and structure customers’ insights 

  • Strong ability to translate product needs to technology and to understand technology 

  • Ability to write SQL scripts or snippets of code preferred 

  • Team player with ability to interface and build relations at all levels
