Job Description

ALSAC’s Program offers an immersive experience where interns experience our culture, contribute to organization’s goals through projects, and build relationships with team members and senior leadership. Interns will truly understand what it's like to be a part of the ALSAC/St.Jude. ALSAC/St.Jude was selected as the 100 best internship programs in the U.S. in 2022 by WayUp and Yello.  

 

  • Start Date: October 11, 2024    

  • End Date: December 30, 2024  

  • Hours: 20 hours a week (Monday-Friday)    

  • Pay Rate: Based on work location    

  • Work Location: Nashville, TN

Requirements:   

  • A passion for our mission!    

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.  

  • Must be comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point.    

  • Ability to work in a team environment but also work strong independently.    

  • Ability to be organized and detailed to balance several projects simultaneously.    

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.    

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.    

  

Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills: 

The Music & Audio Engagement team works with radio ownership groups, artists, labels, content creators and streaming platforms to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude music and audio fundraising program includes Country, Spanish-language, Gospel/Urban Adult Contemporary, Classic Rock, and CHR/Pop formats, among others. The intern will work with team members to support various campaigns and activations that connect the St. Jude brand audiences through multiple platforms.

  • Seminars: Music & Audio Engagement hosts three major seminars that provide a national platform to showcase the St. Jude presence in the radio and music industry, as well as within targeted demographics: Country Cares Seminar, Promesa y Esperanza Seminar and Celebration of Hope Seminar. These seminars bring together 300 – 600 partners and prospects to learn how to increase awareness and fundraising efforts. The intern will work with event leads to provide support for recruitment, registration and overall event planning for Promesa y Esperanza Seminar (October), Country Cares Seminar (October) and Celebration of Hope Seminar (January). Onsite assistance with volunteers, registration and other duties as needed throughout the seminar.

  • This Shirt Saves Lives (TSSL) campaign: This campaign leverages the power of celebrities and influencers to activate their fans and followers to become a monthly donor to receive the TSSL T-shirt that they are wearing and posting to social media. It has been one of the largest drivers in Partner in Hope acquisition by enhancing the on-air radio appeals. The intern will assist with prep for photo shoots, photo shoot logistics, reminders for artists and other influencers to post on their social channels, tracking of posts and reporting. Assist with celebrity requests/orders for TSSL T-shirts.

  • Audio Events: Audio events represent the majority of our revenue and Partner in Hope goals, and the assets we develop and provide are key to hitting our goal to acquire 48,750 monthly donors this year. The intern will assist with production elements for the 100+ radio events that take place nationally in December. Submission and monitoring of song clearance requests. Production of story songs, format book preparation and distribution, digital and programming kit design, and event reporting. Assistance with transcribing, editing, and rotation of story songs. Post-event follow-up includes entering details into the radio event form (REF).

  • Administrative Tasks: Make phone calls. Assemble binders. Engage in online research. Assist with event setup and takedown, if necessary. Data reporting. 

Majors preferred: Hospitality, Communications, Business, Marketing, English, Foreign Languages, or any other related majors

Skills preferred: Social Media, Excel, Adobe, Microsoft Suite. Excellent writing and communication skills are required.
