Job Description Summary:

The Research Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role optimizing operational efficiency, including administrative, project management, and other support duties. The role coordinates the business operations activities, events, programs, and services, ensuring the department is running efficiently and meets the expectations and needs of customers and staff.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as liaison with relevant corporate personnel and community agencies.

  • Coordinates the organization's business operations activities, events, programs, and services.

  • Ensures the department is running efficiently and meets the expectations and needs of customers and staff by overseeing and providing support to departments.

  • Monitor and respond promptly to emails sent to email Inbox, addressing information requests from internal and external sources to build and improve relationships.

  • Assist with project coordination activities including planning and setup of projects, aid in resource allocations, and help monitor progress towards project milestones.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and cross-coverage support for all operational functions, such as Workday support.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or relevant experience can substitute for the degree on a year-to-year basis.

Work Experience:

  • Two (2) years of administrative office support experience.

  • Experience supporting faculty and staff, preferably in higher education.

  • Experience in a customer service role.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree.

Work Experience:

  • Two years of higher education experience.

  • Prior work experience with a healthcare institution.

  • Experience using REDCap.

Skills

  • Discretion in handling confidential information.

  • Ability to show initiative, independent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making within established policies.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and events simultaneously.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
