Overall Objective:
This is an Individual contributor role for a master-level Tableau expert. The primary objective is to create compelling and insightful dashboards, manage our Tableau Server environment, and provide support to our user community. This individual will be a subject matter expert on all things Tableau, from data visualization best practices to server administration and user management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain complex, interactive, and visually appealing dashboards in Tableau to meet business requirements.
- Tableau Server Administration: Manage the Tableau Server environment, including user management, security, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- User Support and Training: Provide training and support to Tableau users, helping them to get the most out of the platform and create their own dashboards.
- Data Source Management: Create and manage data sources in Tableau, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Best Practices: Establish and promote best practices for Tableau development, data visualization, and server governance.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of Tableau dashboards and the server environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience working with Tableau, with a proven track record of creating high-impact dashboards as an individual contributor in a major bank, working within Risk or Marketing teams with a focus on the mortgage and/or retail/commercial banking industry. Experience in managing a Tableau environment and supporting a large user community is essential.
- Technical Skills:
- Tableau: Mastery of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
- SQL: Strong SQL skills for data extraction and preparation.
- Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience working with various data sources.
- Soft Skills:
- Visual Design: A strong eye for visual design and a passion for creating beautiful and effective data visualizations.
- Communication: Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues with dashboards and the Tableau Server.
Education:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Statistics is required. Tableau certifications are a strong plus.
