The Field Service Technician is responsible for safely initiating and executing field service and operational activities at customer sites. This role supports water production and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring continuous operation, water quality compliance, and system reliability.
This position includes troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment, supporting diesel-driven systems, performing light industrial maintenance, monitoring water chemistry, and working within dew point scheduling parameters. The technician will regularly work outdoors in varying weather conditions and interact directly with customers.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
Operate and support water production and wastewater treatment systems
Monitor and adjust systems based on water chemistry and operational data
Work within dew point scheduling parameters to maintain optimal system performance
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment in field environments
Perform light industrial maintenance (fixing small leaks, changing oil in pumps, equipment adjustments)
Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain parts inventory
Collect operational data and input information for tracking and reporting
Compile operational data into customer-facing reports
Utilize digital programs and data analysis tools to monitor and optimize performance
Ensure continuous operation of systems while maintaining quality and quantity standards
Identify and correct safety concerns
Maintain a safe working environment and protect company property
Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with team members as needed
Provide professional customer service and maintain strong customer relationships
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1+ years of technical or operations experience required
Water or wastewater treatment experience preferred
Experience in water production, water chemistry, or process operations strongly preferred
Industrial or light maintenance experience preferred
Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting ability
Electrical and/or diesel experience is a plus
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Self-starter who can work independently in the field
Customer service experience required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices
Preferred: Water Treatment License (A, B, C, or D)
Ability to obtain and maintain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
Field-based position with regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Exposure to industrial environments and operational equipment
Hands-on role requiring mechanical aptitude and physical activity

The estimated pay range for this position is $25–$28 per hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, work location, and market conditions, and is not typically at the top of the range. We offer a competitive compensation package with a comprehensive benefits program.
