We are seeking a dedicated Billing Manager to lead our billing team and focus on resolving billing and collection issues efficiently while maintaining a strong customer-centric approach. This role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless billing experience for our customers and contributing to the continuous improvement of accounts receivable processes. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in billing functions, excel in communication, and demonstrate strong organizational skills. They should be proactive, efficient, and capable of leading a team. This will be the first hire in India ~

The impact you will have:

  • Lead and manage a team of Billing Analysts, including hiring, training, performance management, coaching, and development.
  • Manage and resolve escalated billing issues, working closely with other departments to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Develop and implement team performance metrics and reporting to track progress against key objectives and SLAs.
  • Accurately process customer billings, including recurring charges, one-time fees, professional services, and usage-based invoices
  • Ensure invoices are complete, accurate, and issued within set timelines
  • Manage and respond to billing-related tickets in the Salesforce billing queue promptly, adhering to SLA requirements
  • Play an integral role in projects aimed at automating billing functions within our ERP system using Salesforce integrations
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and provide strategic guidance to leadership
  • Investigate and resolve customer billing disputes, ensuring timely escalation to appropriate teams when necessary
  • Actively seek innovative solutions to address business and customer requirements, enhancing the overall customer experience
  • Perform key month-end close activities, including A/R roll forwards and various account reconciliations
  • Assist with quarter-end audit preparations and support related requests
  • Upload invoices against purchase orders in vendor portals as required
  • Submit credit requests for billing adjustments and make necessary changes to A/R records
  • Manage customer portals to ensure timely invoice uploads and updates
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of A/R processes and policies

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related financial operations
  • 4+ years of experience managing teams
  • Strong understanding of usage-based billing models and associated financial processes
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and payment processing platforms; experience with a global ERP such as NetSuite and Salesforce is required
  • High level of analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets, generate reports, and perform complex reconciliations using spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and drive change management
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
  • Experience in managing complex billing escalations and implementing effective solutions
  • Strong understanding of billing best practices and compliance requirements
