Join The Crew

We are hiring a Retail Regional Manager to join our Retail Operations team and oversee stores across the west coast and midwest. This position reports to the Vice President of Retail and takes Away further by empowering store leaders to own and successfully manage the entirety of their store operations, from people to product.

The Retail Regional Manager is our store-to-corporate connector and advocate. We’re looking for a business leader that is eager to support team members in their professional growth, and can connect them with the tools and resources across the business to get there. This is not only a multi-unit role, but also a multi-faceted one; your day to day will focus on driving sales, people management and development, marketing and event brainstorming, and merchandising - for both new and existing stores alike. 

What You’ll Do As The Retail Regional Manager

  • You’ll supervise stores across your region, ensuring that all leaders are set up for success by setting clear expectations, providing meaningful feedback, and identifying growth/stretch opportunities

  • You’ll manage labor/workforce management, mentoring Store Managers on best scheduling practices and advocating for additional headcount if and when necessary

  • You’ll onboard new team members, ensuring their new hire experience is people-centric and on brand (in partnership with the Director of Retail & CX Education)

  • You’ll oversee performance management, including but not limited to appraisals, promotions, development plans, and progressive discipline (in partnership with the Retail People Partner)

  • You’ll oversee business performance/P&L for your region, and develop action plans in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure store team members are consistently meeting/exceeding plan

  • You’ll foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment that embodies Away’s mission and values, inherently strengthening both the employee and customer experience

  • You’ll build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional departments to ensure the successful execution of retail strategies

  • You’ll collaborate with the marketing team to create initiatives that support stores in achieving their sales targets, while coordinating with store leadership and teams to plan and execute in-store events

Who You Are

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a multi-unit retail management position, and have previous experience in a store management role

  • You’re an impactful communicator; you know how to boil down communication to be both succinct and impactful, and how to tailor your message to best reach your audience

  • You have previous experience driving sales and lifting store performance, and understand how to analyze KPIs (and mentor others in how to do so!)

  • You’re creative and innovative; you love to build great new things that are fresh and unique while staying on brand

  • You’re agile, and motivated by a fast-paced and ever changing environment

  • You’re passionate about transforming travel for all (but that’s a given!)

What We Offer

Our total rewards are inclusive of both compensation and benefits. What we offer within a salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. Salary and benefit offerings are reviewed during phone screenings to ensure alignment.

  • Compensation Range: $115,000.00 - $122,000.00 annually

  • This role is eligible to participate in Away’s Annual Company Performance Incentive Bonus Plan, the terms of which are determined at the discretion of the company

  • Equity Grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company

This role must be based in one of the following states in order to support store operations: Texas, California, Washington state. The position requires up to 40% travel to visit stores within your region.
