Job Description:

Job Summary:

MPS is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and self-driven finance professional to support our back-end R&D operations in Penang, Malaysia.

The Senior Accountant reports to the Taiwan Controller and will be based in Penang, Malaysia.

Responsibilities: 

• Manages day-to-day accounting activities and performs month-end close activities including preparing and reviewing journal entries.
• Prepares and presents monthly account reconciliations, close analytics, variance analysis and ad hoc reports.
• Leads and oversees daily AP operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of supplier invoices and employees expenses reimbursements.
• Assists in other AP areas including E-Invoice implementation and Travel and Expense management.
• Handles intercompany transactions, including billing, reconciliation and documentation.
• Supports Audits and maintain expertise and ensure compliances to accounting GAAPs, policies, and SOX controls.
• Supports financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Supports internal & external stakeholders, including office & facilities coordination
• Support local bank/government interactions (signatory updates, document submission)
• Ad hoc tasks as assigned

Qualifications: 

• Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• >6 years accounting or audit experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Malaysia SST compliance, especially for intercompany transactions.
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, particularly MPERS; familiarity with MFRS is a plus.
