Badger Meter is looking for a Market Manager with an incredible deep knowledge base of applications in the water and wastewater space . The Market Manager is responsible to define, develop and oversee the deployment of global growth strategies that identify, target and deliver distinctive value propositions and generate sustained, above-market sales growth in the water and wastewater market. This role will develop and maintain market intelligence for target industries, including size and growth, key customer needs/VOC and competitive awareness. The expectation is that this individual will serve on relevant and influential industry committees, present as a subject matter expert at tradeshows/conferences, spend considerable time in the field with customers and aid in building out internal and external training tools.
Job Duties:
Collaborate with peers to develop, advance, and implement an industry vertical market planning process.
Collaborate in the development, prioritization, and deployment of broader Water and Wastewater cross selling plan, including key growth themes and initiatives that cross industry segments.
Develop and maintain unique sources and synthesis of market intelligence including but not limited to: segment specific size and growth trends, key customer needs/ VOC, technology drivers and potential disruptors, competitive landscape, and proxies used for leading/ lagging indicators.
Develop a deep understanding of VOC and customer needs, trending, and decision-making processes.
Direct the development of timely business, economic, market and competitive intelligence analysis to support strategic planning initiatives, penetrate new markets, and evaluate performance of ongoing market growth and share capture initiatives.
Lead annual Strategic planning process which should generate consistent profitable growth and market share gains in Water and Wastewater markets.
Support product lifecycle management with critical assessment of product portfolio strengths, gaps and technology trends in targeted industries and markets.
Assist product managers with development and maintenance of product roadmaps (organic and inorganic) that enhance and improve Badger Meter’s competitiveness.
Support the identification and definition of clear and differentiating value propositions for specific product and market segments.
Working closely with the product management team, create and manage forward-looking product innovations and associated service plans.
Identify market and product/ portfolio adjacencies and critically assess and define the path to access. Specifically, define make/ partner/ buy recommendations to optimize profitable growth in attractive adjacencies.
Develop M&A target funnels and cultivate relationships that lead to strategic acquisitions which enhance Badger Meter’s industry competitiveness. Assist or lead in the M&A process as needed, including integration.
Develop segmentation, positioning, and value proposition communications that support growth of overall Badger Meter portfolio in targeted segments of global end markets.
Tailor value proposition messaging and other commercial support tools to influence key drivers in value.
Develop actionable segmentation tools and methods that identify, prioritize and target new leads for global commercial team.
Provide marketing leadership of campaigns focused on customer solutions while driving sales growth through marketing campaigns in selected segments.
Up to 25% travel required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Management, Engineering or a related field required.
7+ years of experience with focus in technical applications, Sales or Marketing in water quality monitoring/treatment, measurement or distribution segments.
Qualifications:
Experience with water quality products and processes required
Experience with network monitoring devices and communication technologies preferred
