Job Responsibilities:
• Defines and drives the strategic direction of CT/AMI System Engineering department, aligning it with Philips CT and R&D overarching objectives and long-term vision, while aligning with current and future customer needs, and inspires cross-organizational innovation.
• Governs the end-to-end implementation of systems architecture and design with a keen focus on system function, performance, cost, reliability, risk management, compliance, and cybersecurity, as well as thorough design verification, validation and transfer to ensure successful introduction and sustaining of high quality, manufactural, serviceable, and reliable products, in the compliant way.
• Coordinates cross-functional efforts to design, develop, and deliver cutting-edge product and solutions that not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of the customers, anticipating future requirements and market trends.
• Define and execute process improvement activities, focusing on system design, system integration & verification, system & clinical validation, design transfer.
• Evaluates and integrates emerging technologies and trends into Philips CT portfolio, drives Systems Engineering approaches to open new markets, leading strategic initiatives that drive sustainable competitive advantage and market differentiation.
• Fosters strategic partnerships with external vendors, industry stakeholders, and academic institutions, driving collaborative research and development initiatives that position Philips as a leader in product and solution innovation.
• Communicates effectively with stakeholders, peer groups and the team, providing strategic insights and recommendations that shape the organization's broader technology roadmap and investment priorities that can help create signifcant business opportunities.
•Establish close relationships with other R&D departments, ensure development is balanced and efficient across technologies and platforms. Maintain relationships with external partners like suppliers and customers, and internal colleagues such as Innovation, Operations, Customer Service, Procurement and Marketing.
• Leads System Engineering departmental capabilities to develop and maintain a long-term view on necessary competences and knowledge for new technology, ensuring adequate resources and tools while enhancing departmental expertise.
• Fosters and encourages an engaged, innovative, and inspiring working environment by motivating, challenging, and coaching employees towards growth and entrepreneurship, stimulating engagement and driving innovation.
• Assumes accountability for the attainment of operational plans, providing guidance to Project Managers/Leaders, and ensuring the optimal allocation of personnel and efficient project management practices.
• Coordinates with relevant parties outside the department, formulating strategies across departmental borders, establishing networks to gather input on technological developments, and identifying trends.
• Influences and leverages deep market, content, and technology knowledge to make data-driven decisions, oversees technology and application areas, and translates business content into opportunities for the department.
• Guides the development department, focusing on execution, ensuring output and performance align with innovation partner expectations, and managing costs in line with budgets.
• Optimizes and develops technological competencies and product creation processes within organizational and market dynamics, improving key processes and managing costs according to budgetary constraints.
• Leads succession planning and comprehensive talent management, driving employee selection, performance management, compensation management, and career development in alignment with organizational operational goals.
Minimum required Education:
Masters degree or above in a technical domain like Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent, with strong experience of design/development at system level as System Architecture or System Design Engineer.
