POSITION OVERVIEW:

The successful candidate will join a team of professionals supporting a growing opportunistic investment platform. The role will include high levels of interaction with investors, internal investment professionals, and senior leaders. This specific role will present an opportunity for the candidate to collaboratively work on complex fund structures and investments with colleagues across the firm, including the investment team, legal, marketing and others.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Private Equity Controllers group in quarter-end accounting and NAV preparation and review, review of financial statements and leading on audits, ad hoc reporting for management, internal clients and investors, and performance reporting. Responsibility for overseeing books and records for the Private Equity funds and related Co-Investment funds.

  • Prepare cash reconciliations and cash wires to support deal bookings and expense including mgmt. fee

  • Prepare GAV and NAV packages for monthly/quarterly reporting to AGM and investor reporting

  • Support the financial and operational team responsible for investor reporting, compliance with the fund agreements, management reporting

  • Review valuation memos and report to the Senior Controller any issues and assist in remediation

  • Work with Corporate Controllers to report and record all monthly and quarterly corporate reporting (carried interest income, GP direct interest)

  • Work with internal and external tax counsel on investor tax reporting and investment structuring.

  • Work alongside the investment teams on deal closings, restructurings, financings

  • Liaise with Marketing and Investor Servicing teams on quarterly reporting and ad-hoc investor requests

  • Complete ad hoc and special projects and initiatives as directed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 2+ years of public/private accounting experience preferred, and Chartered Accountant is required

  • Individual must have strong drive and initiative

  • Individual must be collaborative to effectively liaise with investment partners and colleagues as well as able to work independently

  • An energetic, forward thinking, creative individual with high ethical standards

  • Superior verbal and written skills

  • Role requires individual to be nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Experience using Investran is a significant plus
