Ameriprise Financial is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer (10+ years) with deep expertise integrating and operating vendor-based platforms (iPipeline IFS) alongside strong hands-on experience in SQL and AWS services. This role owns end-to-end technical solutions spanning platform configuration/integration, database engineering, cloud infrastructure, reliability, and operational excellence. You’ll partner across architecture, application development, business analysts, database/infrastructure teams, and vendors to design, implement, optimize, and support resilient, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support system integrations involving iPipeline/ IFS and other vendor platforms

• Partner with vendors and internal teams on platform upgrades, releases, and production support

• Build and support AWS-based infrastructure and services, ensuring security, scalability, and automation

• Develop, optimize, and support SQL databases, including performance tuning, backups, recovery, and availability

• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including system designs and operational runbooks

• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis and long-term fixes

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, platform engineering, or related roles

• Hands-on experience supporting vendor platforms, preferably iPipeline IFS

• Strong expertise in SQL (query optimization, schema design, performance, HA/DR concepts)

• Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native engineering practices

• Experience working across development, infrastructure, database, and vendor teams

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines

• Experience modernizing integrations (e.g., REST/SOAP, API-based integrations)

• Financial services or other regulated-industry experience

The estimated base salary for this role is $114,500 - $157,400/year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
