We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Distribution Manager (2nd Shift) in Atlanta, GA.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary:

  • In this Distribution Manager (2nd Shift) role, you will lead a team of Hourly Associates in the Atlanta Distribution Center. The team is responsible for the receipt, processing, packaging, storage, order filling and shipment of parts to Caterpillar dealers, Distribution Centers and Regional Distribution Centers to support the end users of Caterpillar equipment.

Additional Info:

  • This role is located in Atlanta, GA and does not offer relocation
  • This role is 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 1pm-9:30pm
  • This role is 100% onsite with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules

What You Will Do:

  • Making workflow decisions under the direction of management. Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations.
  • Supervising and motivating distribution center employees through effective coaching and training, clear communication of job expectations, and positive reinforcement of exemplary performance; maintaining a positive distribution center working environment.
  • Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements. Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Ensuring all equipment receives preventative maintenance and repairs, as necessary.
  • Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations.

What You Have (Required Skills):

  • Operational Functions: Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.
  • Customer Service Management: Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
  • Distribution Center Management: Previous inbound and outbound experience. Knowledge of distribution processes, issues and considerations; ability to effectively manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory to stores and/or customers. Proficiency in EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) or similar WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Project Management: Experience leading projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field
