Job Description

Stryker is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer Co-op as part of our Endoscopy Business. This role supports the definition and delivery of clinically meaningful, high‑quality medical products by working closely with R&D, UX, Marketing, Quality, and Regulatory teams. This role may be full‑time on‑site or hybrid, depending on business needs.

The Team:

The Systems R&D team are responsible for defining innovative, clinically focused products for hardware and software category-leading surgical visualization and operating room integration products.

What You Will Do:

As a member of the Systems R&D team, the Systems Engineer Co-Op will support the translation of product vision into system‑level requirements, workflows, and documentation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support development of system‑level requirements (UN, DI, RS).
  • Assist in feature decomposition and backlog readiness.
  • Contribute to ARDs, Design Specifications, and system diagrams.
  • Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews.
  • Support Technical Design Reviews (TDRs).
  • Act as liaison across UX, SW, HW, Test, and Quality teams.
  • Maintain documentation and decision traceability.

What You Need:

  • In the process of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and requirements tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with guidance.

Preferred:

  • Previous co-op term with exposure to medical devices or regulated industries.
  • Previous co-op term with experience working with systems engineering and architecture teams.
