Job Description:

Discover will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position.  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsible for supporting the 2nd line of defense automated compliance monitoring program, which includes: understanding/interpreting regulatory requirements; verifying that operating units are compliant with all appropriate local, state and federal regulations through execution of the compliance monitoring program; delivering accurate and timely examination ready workpapers and supporting documentation for assigned reviews; collaborating with business management to identify compliance-related issues and corrective action plans;  building and trending of monitoring metrics; and support the roll out of new processes and systems within the automated monitoring team throughout the year. This individual should have a strong understanding of risk functions along with data and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with various level of management within the areas of responsibilities, including the risk functions within the first line of defense.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness and knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements. Supports enterprise risk and compliance management in developing, implementing and maintaining an enterprise-wide compliance program and culture of compliance.
  • Creates and maintains monitoring workpapers and supporting documentation. Drafts written reports regarding compliance monitoring results.
  • Responsible for identifying and escalating exception/issue trending within assigned monitoring assignments, which will be utilized by senior level management and committees to analyze the health and maturation of the monitoring and testing programs.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration and management, Finance, or Law
  • 4+ years of experience in Compliance, Financial Services, Risk, and/or BSA/AML or related
  • In Lieu of Education Experience 8+ years' experience in compliance, financial services, Risk, BSA/AML or related including testing, quality assurance or audit

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  • 6+ years of experience, 4 years in Testing, Quality Assurance, Risk & Controls, and/or Audit
  • Experience with building metrics and using Tableau
  • Certified Internal Auditor
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager
  • Strong understanding of compliance testing/monitoring (e.g developing a sound testing review and sampling methods)

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
