Job Description​

Provide in-depth knowledge and support to 2 Critical Access Hospitals in North Central Missouri. (Hedrick & Wright Memorial hospitals).You will be responsible for the supply chain, medication management systems, medication-use policy, technology, and billing to deliver and support patient care. In conjunction with the Pharmacy Directors, the Operations Manager will strive to deliver quality pharmacy services, collaborating with providers and staff to ensure positive medication outcomes and health of patients.

• Design, manage and ensure workflow to ensure efficiency and timeliness to care
• Establish quality assurance and performance improvement activities
• Contribute to the achievement of department goals by effectively participating in or leading committees and work groups
• Participate in the orientation and training of personnel in practice area
• Work with representatives from other departments to resolve patient care issues
• Accept responsibility for assisting the department with the procurement, maintenance and ongoing evaluation of drug inventory and other supplies
• Precept pharmacy learners including technicians, students, and residents
• Attend management and departmental team meetings, participate in the SLHS Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee, and other meetings
• Maintain regulatory compliance on a federal and state level related to pharmacy practice and operations
• Mediate and resolve interpersonal team and department conflicts
• Identify skills and aptitude of staff and assists in their career development and learning of new skills
• Work with medical, nursing, administrative and other pharmacy personnel
• Responsible for human resources management including recruitment, retention, performance management, employee engagement and development of staff
• Use Performance Management Process to coach, counsel and evaluate employee performance
• Provide direction and support appropriate to team members’ developmental level to identify and develop pharmacy leaders
