What We Offer  

  • Compensation – We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation programs. We offer a competitive hourly rate based on education level and qualifications, as follows:

    • Undergraduate students: $25.00/hour

    • Graduate students: $29.00/hour

    • Ph.D./JD students: $37.00/hour

  • Hybrid work option Staff will be assigned to one of our offices, including: Washington, DC (Headquarters); Ashburn, VA; Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Charlotte, NC; Philadelphia, PA; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX office or location. Staff can choose to live and work from anywhere within the United States but will be required to commute to their assigned office or location for occasional intentional gatherings or meetings at the frequency required by their supervisor. Travel to an assigned office or location for commuting purposes will not be considered reimbursable business travel, unless otherwise required by state law. Business travel is reimbursable in an amount not exceeding the cost to travel from the assigned office or location, unless otherwise required by state law. 

Role Summary

The PCAOB Strategic Planning Oversight Intern position is in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO) department, and reports to the Associate Director, Strategic Plan Oversight. The primary responsibilities include supporting key enterprise-wide programs and projects aligned with our Strategic Plan. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a multi-faceted professional environment and works professionally with others.

The Intern will have the opportunity to work as a part of the Strategic Planning Oversight team to utilize and develop strategic planning and project management skills. The Intern will gain experience working on special projects related to strategic and operational measures, and long-term planning. The Intern will interface with members of Strategic Planning Oversight Function as well as staff and leaders within the OCOO. Our internship program provides hands-on work experience, allowing you to grow your skills and gain experience.

Responsibilities

  • Research best practices for developing and reporting on performance measures related to auditing, inspections, finance, human resources, and technology, and develop recommendations.

  • Collaborate with the Associate Director, Strategic Plan Oversight on the enhancements to a long-term planning framework by developing an online presence for stakeholders.

  • Participate in special projects or other team assignments as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Technical Expertise/Skills and Abilities

  • Current academic enrollment at the undergraduate (junior or above) or graduate level, pursuing a degree in business administration, an MBA or an MPA and has preferably completed intermediate courses ins strategic planning, data analytics, program, or project management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint Online.

  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualization, etc.

  • Ability and willingness to follow directions and learn quickly while maintaining a professional positive attitude.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others or independently to accomplish team goals, success oriented.

  • Ability to effectively execute detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy and at times to multi-task.

  • Drive to meet quality and timeline requirements in a professional, team-oriented and supportive atmosphere to meet individual and team deadlines and goals.

  • Maintains standards of confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents.
