As a Principal Platform Engineer in our cyber engineering team, you will be the hands-on technical lead driving the implementation of complex technical solutions to improve the security of the bank’s platforms and systems.
You will champion the adoption of DevSecOps practices, automation and reliability.

Provide strategic leadership in shaping the technical vision for DevSecOps automation and reliability, driving innovation and best practices across our crew and the Group.
Lead and collaborate with platform engineering squads to enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability through the implementation of DevSecOps practice.
Lead the creation and maintenance of advanced automation solutions for continuous integration, deployment, monitoring, and incident response, ensuring a high level of system reliability and operational efficiency.
Are experts in partnering with senior stakeholders and leading a culture of data-driven reliability, monitoring and automation
Spearhead the development and implementation infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using differing tools and software, ensuring consistent and reproducible infrastructure deployments.
Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the DevOps community.
Champion the establishment and improvement of monitoring and alerting systems, employing tools such as Splunk, Grafana, to proactively identify and address performance issues.
Drive post-incident reviews and root cause analyses, implementing preventative measures to enhance overall system resilience.
Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipelines, platform, and applications.
Participate in on-call rotations, responding to incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures.
Technical skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
Expertise working with AWS Infrastructure.
In depth understanding of scripting/programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python etc, as well as good Windows/Linux Server experience.
Expertise working with Infrastructure as Code e.g Lambda, Cloudformation, CDK, AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline highly regarded.
Experience with and knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools like Github, GitHub Action, TeamCity, CI/CD pipeline desirable.
Kubernetes clusters, and operations.
Automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform.
Source control, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub actions, Jenkins, Octopus
Go languages, Bash/Python scripting.
Cloud Native network policy such as Calcio.
Infrastructure as code pipelines and automation.
Observability with Grafana and Prometheus.
