Senior Support Worker

Alva

Full Time permanent position consisting of 40hrs a week.

This will predominately be a Monday to Friday 9.00am to 17.00pm role however there will be some flex on start and end times due to business needs.

This is not a Monday to Friday 9-5 role, flexibility however will work both ways.

We are offering an hourly rate of £12.92 plus 35p a mile for trips between service users.  

We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our team.

We provide support to a variety of individuals with care needs such as autism, learning difficulties, Mental Health and behaviours that challenge, providing a fulfilling environment where our service users can develop to their full potential.

You will also undertake delegated supervisory management responsibilities and provide leadership to less experienced staff to ensure the development of best care practice and optimal outcomes for clients. Previous experience of working in the care sector or a secure environment is desirable.

About the Role:

  • To provide support to your new and existing staff team, participating in the induction and shadowing of new staff
  • To ensure the care team understands the importance of their actions
  • To carry out spot checks and observations
  • To complete service users reviews and attend Social Worker meetings
  • To carry out Audits
  • To monitor high standards of work performance in Service Users home.
  • To maintain confidentiality throughout the service according to legal requirements.
  • To report promptly any concerns, complaints or grievances to their line manager / Registered Manager.
  • To have an active awareness of personal responsibilities and accountability for helping to ensure that a safe working environment is maintained in accordance with legislation.
  • To participate in the on-call rota as required.
  • To participate in emergency and holiday cover when required.
  • To report to Line Manager the progress of individuals, incidents that have occurred and general observations where necessary and at team meetings.


Role Criteria:

  • Previous experience within the care sector is essential for this role.
  • SVQ Level 2 qualification and are willing to work towards SVQ level 3.
  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • The ability to be flexible with their working hours.
