We supervise regulatory tracking activities, assessments, advice, and report on regulatory risk; we also take ownership of numerous compliance domains, manage regulatory control frameworks, assess and mitigate risk, report and give assurance. We ensure that policies and procedures are being respected and that the behavior within Swift meets our internal Code of Conduct and all regulatory-driven controls.

Become part of the Compliance & Regulatory Affairs team

The Compliance & Regulatory Affairs team is looking for an Associate Compliance Officer with wide regulatory knowledge across multiple compliance domains, including whistleblowing, investigations, competition law, codes of conduct, anti-bribery & corruption, ethical business conduct; and experience with several compliance activities, including control frameworks, policies, trainings, assurance and reporting.

In this role you will report to Swift’s global Head of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs. You would handle a cluster of compliance domains and drive improvements.

Amongst other things, the Associate Compliance Officer will

  • Provide assistance to the Head of Compliance & Regulatory affairs across several compliance domains.
  • Manage several compliance domains from end-to-end, which includes building up regulatory knowledge, handling compliance programs, trainings and reporting.
  • Act as center of expertise and provide mentorship to colleagues around the world on compliance areas.
  • Maintain awareness trainings, coordinate completion of e-learning modules, and give local training sessions to targeted audiences.
  • Maintain a repository of compliance controls and related information such as risks, evidence, issues, owners and actions.
  • Collect and maintain compliance-related reports and notifications from business and operational teams. Support in providing monthly and quarterly compliance reports.
  • Supervise or manage/coordinate specific compliance projects.
  • Assess compliance of relevant controls in the supply chain.
  • Assist in providing compliance assurance to the procurement or compliance departments of our customers and business partners.
  • Write procedures and policies in its domain of expertise.

As a member of the Legal & Compliance team, you may also be exposed to and contribute to other legal and compliance related matters, such as reviewing and testing the Dawn Raid procedures, supporting the legal operations team, providing support in drafting training material, managing tools, collaborating closely with external vendors, conducting risk-assessment, etc.

This entry/mid level function offers the possibility to grow and take on more responsibilities over time. This role can be require to travel at least 10 - 15%.

              

Skills & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor/University Law degree or equivalent legal experience demonstrating a deep understanding of multi-jurisdictional legal issues/requirements arising in the context of Regulatory compliance, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions & export controls, privacy and data protection, competition law and speak-up/whistleblowing/investigations.
  • Proven experience in compliance related activities and roles
  • Impartial, open-minded, respectful and at ease with ethical dilemma
  • Trustworthy and respectful in handling confidential information and sensitive cases
  • Experience of operating at various levels within the organisation (e.g. senior levels, remote employees) and with external vendors (such as law firms, authorities, third-party vendors)
  • 3+ years of similar experience
  • Organised and hardworking for continuous improvement and high-quality work results.
  • Inclusive, collaborative, delivery-focused and with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Operational excellence skills (e.g. capable of building relevant reports, continuous improvement attitude) & project management experience
  • Capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and strong presentation skills
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies and control frameworks
  • Remain respectful and diplomatic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation.
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision and can demonstrate independence of judgement and autonomy
