SUPERVISOR, TEST OPERATIONS (SUBASSEMBLIES)

The F9 Subassembly Test team is responsible for acceptance testing of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy pneumatic, structural and hydraulic mechanisms and subassemblies – everything from engine startup to Falcon Heavy Booster separation has components tested and validated by this team.

The Test Operations Supervisor is responsible for the management of a team of up to 14 technicians and specialists on two shifts, and ultimately promoting the safety, reliability, and quality of the Falcon program as we work toward increasingly higher rate. Daily tasks include work assignments/schedules, performance management, and developing continuous improvement initiatives. Outside of tactical support, the Test Operations Supervisor plays a role in expanding the qualified life of the Falcon family of vehicles, coordinating qualification testing for vehicle mechanisms and assisting in anomaly root cause testing. Additionally, the Test Operations Supervisor is responsible for coordinating asset maintenance and reliability efforts for our ~30 custom test stands, which can range from debugging fluid systems to assisting engineering in activating new, custom test assets. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of all employees in test operations and maintain and promote our safety culture and commitment to quality
  • Ensure compliance with safety, ethics, and professional standards within the facility
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
  • Oversee operations within the facility and prioritize tasks to meet customer dates
  • Participate in ongoing development of each employee by creating and enforcing training programs
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding of new hires
  • Develop and implement cost reductions and efficiency improvement measures
  • Foster a spirit of cooperation within and between shifts and other departments
  • Perform production risk identification and mitigation
  • Monitor key production metrics, and implement improvement plans with staff
  • Responsible for maintaining and repair of test facilities and resources

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team or project in a technical field

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience performing high pressure operations
  • Experience with data acquisition & control systems
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment
  • Computer skills and knowledge of collaboration tools
  • Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to create and adhere to production processes

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed. Expected shift time: 1st shift Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM
  • Must be willing to travel for short/extended trips as needed
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:    
Production Supervisor: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year       

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
