Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst – Cox Fleet Sales

Job Description

Cox Automotive is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst working in a successful team environment supporting Cox Fleet Sales. This Senior Analyst, Pricing & Deal Management to serve as a key financial partner to the Sales organization, supporting First Party and Third-Party deal structuring, pricing governance, and contract economics. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Sales, Operations, and Strategy — ensuring that deals are structured to drive revenue growth while protecting margin integrity and aligning with company financial objectives. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, strong communication skills, and interpersonal acumen to support sales and finance leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

Deal Review & Approval Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the deal desk function, reviewing non-standard deal requests from the Sales team for financial viability, margin compliance, and alignment with approved pricing guardrails.

  • Evaluate deal structures including discounting, bundling, contract term variations, payment terms, and custom pricing requests, providing go/no-go recommendations with supporting financial rationale.

  • Facilitate the deal approval workflow by routing requests to appropriate stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Sales leadership) and ensuring timely turnaround to support sales cycle velocity.

Pricing Analysis & Modeling

  • Maintain and evolve pricing models, deal calculators, and scenario analysis tools that enable Sales teams to structure economically sound proposals across the product portfolio.

  • Conduct sensitivity analysis on pricing levers — including discount depth, volume tiers, contract length, and product mix — to quantify financial impact and inform pricing decisions.

  • Support the development and periodic refresh of list pricing, floor pricing, and discount authorization matrices in partnership with Finance and Product leadership.

Pricing Strategy & Governance

  • Partner with Finance, Product, Operations, and Sales Operations to develop and maintain a consistent pricing framework across all product lines and customer segments.

  • Monitor pricing trends, discount patterns, and deal exceptions to identify risks, leakage, and opportunities for pricing optimization.

  • Support annual and ad hoc pricing reviews, incorporating competitive intelligence, cost structures, and market dynamics into recommendations for leadership.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Maintain deal pipeline reporting and pricing performance dashboards, tracking key metrics such as average selling price (ASP), discount rates, win/loss rates by pricing tier, and contract value trends.

  • Analyze realized deal economics versus approved terms, flagging variances and supporting post-close reviews to inform future pricing decisions.

  • Deliver regular reporting to Sales and Finance leadership on pricing health, deal mix, and margin performance.

  • Providing financial analysis on a monthly basis and ad hoc reports as needed, which may involve responding to specific requests for data or insights from stakeholders.

  • Leverage AI where possible to automate and increase efficiency in reporting.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Product, Legal, and FP&A to ensure pricing decisions are well-informed.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales teams by providing real-time guidance on deal structuring and helping navigate the approval process efficiently.

  • Support the development of training materials and enablement resources that help Sales teams understand pricing policies and deal desk processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with 4+ years of experience in pricing, deal desk, commercial finance, FP&A, or a closely related analytical role. A candidate may also have a Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience or a Ph.D with 1+ year of relevant experience. A nondegreed candidate will have 8+ years of experience.

  • Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to build dynamic, scenario-based pricing tools from scratch.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance analytical rigor with commercial pragmatism in a fast-paced sales environment.

  • Advanced MS Excel skills required; experience with AI

  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial analysis clearly to both Finance and non-Finance audiences.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deal reviews simultaneously under tight deadlines.
