Associate Web Developer

About the Role:

In this role as an Associate Web Developer, you will:

  • Be in charge of ensuring websites look good and function properly on desktop as well as mobile devices.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, monitor website health, troubleshoot website problems when they arise, and update websites as necessary.

  • Responsible for managing workflow, duration, and final delivery in order to accomplish customers’ requirements, as well as following internal best practices and web accessibility practices.

  • Operate within a WordPress environment, using a back-end page builder (DIVI) to create or upgrade industry-leading websites. They will incorporate plugin features and customized web development functionality to meet or exceed customer expectations and needs.

  • Work in a fast-paced, production environment and must be able to provide a high level of customer service to our customers. They will use a project management system to organize workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-pasted, production-oriented environment where the customer is the priority. They will also work in partnership with a cross-functional production team, collaborating to ensure on-time delivery of tasks and projects.

About You:

  • Candidates should have at least 1 year of website development experience.

  • Hands-on WordPress experience, including customization with HTML5 and CSS3. 

  • Good understanding of Divi theme builder, Elementor or similar page builder plugins.

  • Ability to code using JavaScript/jQuery to accomplish the requirement.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) accessibility standards, guidelines, usability and web fonts.\

  • Experience with web accessibility evaluation tools and processes.

  • Knowledge of adjusting the website so content is easier to read by everyone, including those who do not have specific visual conditions.

  • Knowledge to evaluate the website code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers and mobile devices.

  • Fluency with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).

  • Basic knowledge of other JavaScript libraries like Angular.js and Node.js would serve as an advantage.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box to find solutions to complex problems

  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities

  • Basic knowledge of the Search Engine Optimization process

  • Communication skills that ensure stakeholders are up to date on project needs and in the loop on updates, revisions, and changes.

  • Client facing role, candidates must be comfortable working directly with customers.

  • Candidates should be flexible to work on rotational shifts.

  • Strong attention to detail. Strong organization, project management and time management skills.

  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines.

  • Ability to function well under pressure.

  • Focused on results and accountability.

  • Able to work autonomously and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and be open to other team members’ ideas.

  • Strong influence and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
