We are looking for a: Programme Risk & Opportunity Manager who is available for an indicative period of two years in the UK, before returning to one of Leonardo Italia's sites.

Responsibilities:

Identify, monitor programme risks (threats and opportunities) and benefits; to plan and integrate the implemented responses to the risks and respond to issues that affect a change initiative in support of the risk owners.

The Programme Risk Manager will run a team supporting the Programme and Integration Lead, providing risk practitioner capability in the establishment and maintenance of risk management process and systems. Typically, this role would manage a risk team for complex areas and / or a major programme, providing specialist risk support to bids, or acting as a SRA/CRA specialist providing risk analysis into a major programme.

Accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Create and set programme risk management strategy and direction (PM&C function role);
  • Develop a Programme Risk Management framework, in close collaboration with the Enterprise Risk Management unit, defining the organizational model, roles, skills, responsibilities, processes, procedures, methods, tools (etc…);
  • Create, develop, implement and maintain the risk management plan, ADE Management plan, Opportunities management plan, Issues management plan and LfE management plan for their programme, Line of Business or Sector;
  • Manage team performance and code of conduct in accordance with the company policies.

Ensure the correct application of the Programme Risk Management process, in accordance with the defined Programme Risk Management Framework:

  • Coordinate and execute risk management activities by collaborating with all organizational units involved in the programme and with relevant enterprise constructs (domains and suppliers);
  • Provide methodological guidance to ensure correct implementation of the process across the programme;
  • Tailor, implement and maintain the risk management strategy, policies, procedures and plan for the programme in line with business process;
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach in Risk & Opportunity Management, cooperating with relevant governance and assurance team;
  • Support decision-making processes providing appropriate data analysis and reporting about risks, opportunity and the relevant treatment actions;
  • Contribute to spread and foster risk culture into the organization;
  • Ensure programme risks are appropriately escalated to the enterprise business risk register;
  • Will have significant knowledge & experience of influencing internal and external stakeholders;
  • Will have a strong ability to capture, evaluate and share good practice;
  • Ensure resources are appropriate in terms of quality and SQEPness.

Objectives (Sample)

  • Gathering risks and opportunities;
  • Develop and maintain Risk & Opportunity Register;
  • Analysis of Programme riskness also through statistical tools (Example Monte Carlo Analysis to be applied to costs and times);
  • Conduct monthly risk reviews and ensure accurate documentation of all risk-related decisions.  

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience;
  • Leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring a team and engaging with several stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of governance regulatory standards;
  • Expertise in developing risk management strategy that is aligned with programme objectives;
  • Expertise in establishing risk management framework, in managing, identifying and assessing risks, in developing risk mitigation actions;
  • Expertise in cost benefit analysis to evaluate potential benefits;
  • 5 -10 years of proven experience in the role;
  • Knowledge of advanced risk analysis techniques (example: sensitivity, Monte Carlo, decision trees) and quantitative risk models;
  • Excellent knowledge of Business management systems and Office tools.

  • Experience in complex programmes.
