Summary
The manager compliance and controls is responsible for overseeing the compliance and control functions of SLGS Philippines (PH), ensuring that the policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and that the risks are mitigated. The manager compliance and controls also provide guidance and support to the senior management on compliance and control matters, as well as liaises with any external regulators and auditors.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor the compliance and control framework of the SLGS PH entity, including the identification, assessment, and mitigation of compliance and control risks.
- Ensure that the organization complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, as well as internal policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Provide training and awareness programs to the staff and management on compliance and control topics.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of the compliance and control activities and processes, and report on the findings and recommendations to the senior management.
- Manage and coordinate the responses to the inquiries and inspections from the external regulators and auditors and ensure that the issues and deficiencies are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with the internal and external stakeholders, such as the business units, the legal department, finance, HR and other entities functions.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the field of compliance and control, and provide advice and guidance to the organization on the emerging trends and issues.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in compliance and control, preferably in a financial services or a regulated industry.
- A certification in compliance and control or the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
- Strong knowledge of the relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, as well as the best practices and methodologies in compliance and control.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with different levels of the organization and the external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and assess the compliance and control risks and issues, and provide practical and effective solutions.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards, with the ability to uphold the values and principles of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with the flexibility and adaptability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
