Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Manager in support of the manufacturing operations of the Boeing Commercial Airplane Program statement of work performed at the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada site.
This is a full time; permanent position and the selected candidate must be able to work 2nd shift.
The Senior Manufacturing Manager will to join the manufacturing operations leadership team and report to the Director of Operations. This leader will integrate with first shift Program/Process Center Senior Manufacturing Managers to guide execution of the composite fabrication and assembly processes to achieve safety, quality, compliance, schedule and cost objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers within multiple manufacturing and functional disciplines on evening shift to enhance performance and expand capabilities. Provides on-going developmental feedback and recognizes and engages individuals and teams to improve overall employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce.
Applies an in-depth understanding of management principles and practices to develop integrated and operational program plans, policies and procedures aligned to achieving program and site safety, quality, schedule and cost goals.
Monitors metrics and key project milestones to ensure performance to plan is achieved. Takes appropriate actions to course correct as required.
Works with Manufacturing Senior Manager peers and cross functionally to forecast and develop plans to acquire the resources required to meet operational plans and department activities, and provides technical management and oversight where required.
Leads the cultural transformation and continuous improvement activities within the program and site utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and processes.
Supports the identification and management of risks, issues and opportunities within the assigned program and guides the development and management of risk mitigation and opportunity capture strategies and related activities.
Communicates organizational messages, site / program strategy, business goals, and program status to first level managers and employees on the evening and midnight shifts to keep them informed, solicit feedback and take appropriate actions when required.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with program customers and partners, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches on products and processes, and input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of first level management experience with responsibility for direct reports
5+ years of experience leading teams to achieve planned business goals and objectives and improvement activities utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and processes
2+ years of 2nd level management experience – leading first level managers
General experience in project management, and the development, communication and implementation of key strategic and operational initiatives
Willing and able to work 2nd shift (evening)
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Post-secondary education – Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
3+ years of 2nd level management experience – leading first level managers
Experience leveraging Program Management Principles (strategy & business planning, integrated scheduling, financial and baseline management, Risk Issue and Opportunity management)
Experience influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and partnerships across multiple business functions
Experience managing complex and/or cross functional projects/initiatives
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
