Director Global Multilateral Engagement, Global Health Partnerships (m/f/d)

This position reports to the Head of Global Health Partnerships responsible for supporting the divisional multilateral stakeholder engagement strategy and ensuring alignment with our enterprise global health and policy strategy. The primary responsibilities are to develop and implement an ongoing multilateral engagement strategy for external Geneva-based stakeholders, global institutions, and Geneva based industry associations. Specifically, this position will support the identification, evaluation, management, and monitoring of stakeholder engagement and partnerships. The role will also work with internal team across the enterprise to align our strategies and projects to maximize our impact in global health.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Director, Global Institutions will contribute to the implementation and monitoring of health-related projects and programs related to Geneva-based and other global institutions. The Director will enable and help manage strategic initiatives on the ground with certain multilateral organizations and associations and will:
- Provide day-to-day execution support, progress updates, and prioritization guidance to the Head, Global Health Partnerships.
- Enhance Pfizer’s reputation and impact among stakeholders at Geneva-based institutions and other international organizations.
- Conduct environmental scanning and targeted field analysis if appropriate to identify potential risks and opportunities for Pfizer and its business and policy interests among key global institutions based in Geneva.
- Provide project management to internal task forces, issue-based teams, or other cross-functional initiatives that relate to global institutions.
- Communicate regularly with the Global Health Partnerships team to inform strategies, to share updates and best practices, and to facilitate collaboration on specific projects.
- Work with the Head, Global Health Partnerships, to:
- Develop and maintain a stakeholder map of individuals at global institutions and associations in Geneva who are decision-makers or influencers on issues of business and policy relevance to Pfizer.
- Develop, manage and maintain an issues and relationship management database that will be used to organize and align global institution activities across the enterprise.
- Maintain on a regular basis a calendar of events taking place in Geneva and having relevance to Pfizer business and policy interests.
- Develop and organize meeting opportunities for the Head, Global Health Partnerships & divisional team, and other senior Corporate Affairs staff with stakeholders at global institutions in Geneva.
- Organize side-events during certain events taking place in Geneva (e.g. World Health Assembly).
- Analyze and synthesize publications issued by global institutions and about issues handled by global institutions that may impact Pfizer’s business or policy priorities. Provide succinct analysis and recommendations on a regular (e.g. weekly) basis to facilitate decision-making.
- Monitor newsletters, websites, and other global institution communication channels to identify key events and issues of relevance to Pfizer.
- Organize and facilitate timely submission of Pfizer input – reached by consensus if appropriate – on requests for information from global institutions and associations.
- Prepare upfront materials and post-meeting synthesis / action items for the Global Institutions and other related teams.
You offer:
- Minimum 8 – 10 years experience in public affairs, policy, or government relations, with experience in health care
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree and advanced proficiency in multiple languages (e.g. French) preferred
- Outstanding oral and written communications skills
- Exceptional project management and organization skills
- Excellence in collaboration and communication across functions
- Proven experience in developing, organizing, driving, and implementing strategies with measurable results
- Should be highly motivated, creative and process-driven with regards to problem solving
- Broad and deep understanding of key stakeholders and influencers
- A moderate amount of international travel may be required
- Must be able to work under pressure, independently and in a team environment, and with all levels of the organization
