OVERVIEW
As part of the performance marketing team at VML, the Paid Media Analyst acts as the engine for campaign execution and operational excellence. While this role has a primary focus on Paid Search (SEM), the successful candidate must also possess the versatility to manage executions in Paid Social and Display.
We are looking for a disciplined professional who demonstrates a strong command of media platforms and is capable of managing complex campaign setups with precision. The Paid Media Analyst will work closely with the Connections Supervisor to execute defined strategies, ensuring budgets are paced strictly according to plan, ads are trafficked accurately, and performance meets the high standards of our clients. This role requires an individual who arrives with established operational knowledge of Google Ads, SA360, and Social platforms.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Execution & Trafficking: Execute the setup and launch of Search campaigns with a heavy emphasis on Google Search Ads. This includes bulk keyword uploads, ad copy implementation, and precise targeting configuration.
Budget Management (Pacing): Lead the daily monitoring of media spend (Pacing) to ensure strict adherence to monthly and quarterly budgets. Proactively alert the Supervisor of any potential under/over-spend variances.
Search Operations: manage the day-to-day mechanics of the account, including Search Query Reports (SQRs), bid management, and the implementation of negative keywords.
Reporting & Data Integrity: Generate data for weekly and monthly performance reports. Maintain accurate tracking sheets and ensure data consistency across platforms.
QA & Compliance: Conduct rigorous quality assurance checks on live ads to ensure landing pages are functional, creative is approved, and tracking pixels are firing correctly.
Social & Display Operations: Oversee creative refreshes, audience uploads, and trafficking requirements for Social and Display platforms.
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
1 - 2 Years Related Media Experience: Must have proven hands-on experience managing Paid Search (SEM) campaigns, with additional proficiency in Social and Display.
Core Platform Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, Search Ads 360 (SA360), and Meta Ads Manager is required. Candidates must be able to navigate these tools without basic training.
Additional Platform Knowledge: Experience with Programmatic (DV360) and Campaign Manager 360 (CM360) is considered a strong advantage.
Excel Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, large data sets) are essential for pacing and analysis.
Mathematical Aptitude: Strong ability to calculate and analyze core media metrics (CTR, CPC, CPA, ROAS) accurately.
Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to identify errors in data or ad copy setup prior to launch.
Organization: Capable of managing multiple workstreams and deadlines in a high-demand environment.
Certifications: Google Ads Search Certification is highly desired.
