Let’s talk about this role 

The Support Coordinator is dedicated to assisting NDIS participants in the coordination and implementation of all supports outlined in their funded plans. This includes informal, mainstream, community, and NDIS-funded supports. The primary objectives of this role are: 

  • Strengthen and enhance the participant’s ability to coordinate supports, participate in the community, and ensure the delivery of their plan within the allocated budget, maximising value for money for services received 

  • Ensure mainstream services such as housing, education, justice, and health meet their obligations to the participant 

  • Build the participant’s capacity to achieve greater independence and self-direct their services and supports in the long term 

  • Support the participant in managing crises and building resilience 

  • Provide the participant and the NDIA with reports on outcomes and success indicators, adhering to the agreed reporting frequency 

  • Develop and implement solutions and strategies that enable the participant to achieve their goals and enhance the participant’s inclusion in their community

You are a knowledgeable professional who is currently working as a Support Coordinator.  With your experience and a strong understanding of the National Standards for Disability Services, you excel in risk management, personal planning, and implementing strategies that promote inclusion. 

Your excellent communication skills enable you to effectively engage with participants and their families, providing support within the NDIS framework. You are proactive, creative, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with strong coordination skills, and problem-solving abilities. 

Organised and efficient, you thrive in high-volume environments, consistently delivering high-quality plans, reports, and solutions. Your commitment to dignity, respect, and empowerment drives your work, making you a valuable support for your participant.
