What is the opportunity?

The Operational Resilience Advisor is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager, Operational Resilience and contributing to the execution, reporting, and oversight of the Operational Resilience Program within Caribbean Banking. This position is integral in maintaining a framework for all applicable stakeholders to carry out OSFI Operational Resilience requirements (under regulation E-21) while monitoring critical deliverables to ensure Caribbean Banking remains compliant and mitigates related risks. The role is essential to the execution of the Operational Resilience lifecycle elements and the Quarterly Operational Resilience reporting process, including inputs for regulatory and Operational Risk reporting.

What will you do?

  • Update and maintain the inventory of Critical & Significant business services, ensuring Lines of Businesses key processes are identified, inventoried, and mapped end-to-end across Caribbean Banking
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify and map end-to-end critical processes for each critical business service
  • Document critical assets and develop Asset Registers for people, processes, premises, technology, suppliers, and data to identify single points of failure, gaps, and vulnerabilities
  • Support harm assessment workshops to assess harm and determine impact tolerance for critical & significant business services
  • Document impact tolerance statements based on risk appetite and identified harms
  • Support table-top scenario exercises and assess the control environment with key stakeholders
  • Support the documentation and validation of scenario testing outputs, gaps identified, and remediation required
  • Prepare Self-assessment Reports for Service Owner sign-off
  • Support Operational Risk colleagues and risk domain experts to develop a comprehensive perspective of operational resilience
  • Produce timely and accurate reporting to senior management and enterprise partners, ensuring a holistic view of operational resilience and continuity risk
  • Understand and incorporate operational risks and threats facing the financial services sector to provide perspective on Caribbean Banking's ability to prepare for and respond to disruptions

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University degree or equivalent in a business-related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in risk management within financial services
  • Strong understanding of Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Management
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and leading practices regarding Operational Resilience
  • Experience executing policies and procedures; proficiency in risk management methodologies
  • Knowledge of Caribbean Banking products, processes, and organization
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation abilities
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to influence and impact at senior levels
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
