About the Role

As a UX Communication Designer for Harman’s Connected Experience Platform, you will shape how complex ecosystem concepts, multi-device flows, and platform capabilities are communicated across the organization. Your work transforms technical architecture, experience frameworks, and platform logic into clear, compelling visual stories that align teams and accelerate product decision-making.

This role sits at the intersection of UX, systems thinking, and visual communication. You will design diagrams, storyboards, interaction narratives, and platform communication assets that help Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, and BU leaders understand and adopt connected experience principles.

Your job is not just to “make things pretty” — it is to make complexity understandable, enabling Harman to scale a unified connected experience across all Consumer Audio products.

Your Team

You will be part of the One Platform Team — a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary group building Harman’s Connected Experience Platform. The team spans product, architecture, data, and experience specialists who jointly shape the future of Harman’s digital ecosystem. You will collaborate deeply with global engineering teams and BU stakeholders, ensuring platform capabilities are aligned with Harman’s long-term product strategy and can scale across devices, markets, and use cases.

Your work will directly influence the next decade of Harman’s ecosystem evolution.

What You Will Do

• Create clear, elegant visual communication assets for platform concepts, including ecosystem maps, user journeys, experience flows, architecture diagrams, and cross-device interactions.
• Translate complex technical and product requirements into intuitive visual narratives, supporting platform strategy, internal education, and stakeholder alignment.
• Design storyboards and conceptual mockups that articulate next-generation connected experiences across mobile, embedded, cloud, and multi-device surfaces.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to visualize platform roadmaps, experience frameworks, feature definitions, and capability boundaries.
• Build and maintain a visual communication system for OneFlow, including templates, iconography, design motifs, and presentation standards.
• Partner with UX and Design teams to ensure experience coherence across products and platforms.
• Support executive communication with high-fidelity visuals for leadership reviews, cross-BU presentations, and strategic narratives.
• Ensure all communication assets align with platform architecture, experience principles, and long-term ecosystem strategy.
• Contribute to internal playbooks, guidelines, and enablement materials that help BUs adopt platform capabilities.

What You Need to Be Successful

• A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in visual communication, UX storytelling, information design, or system visualization.
• 4+ years of experience in UX design, product communication design, information architecture, or related fields.
• Ability to turn ambiguous, highly technical concepts into structured, intuitive visuals that drive shared understanding.
• Strong proficiency in design tools (Figma, Illustrator, Keynote, motion tools preferred).
• Experience designing multi-device experiences, ecosystem flows, or complex systems.
• Exceptional visual structuring and narrative skills — ability to clarify, simplify, and communicate with precision.
• Strong collaboration skills across Product, Design, Engineering, and Architecture.
• Ability to balance high-level conceptual thinking with hands-on design execution.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where concepts evolve rapidly.
• Fluency in using modern AI tools for ideation, visualization, and design acceleration.

Bonus Points if You Have

• Experience in consumer electronics, IoT, smart home, or multi-device ecosystems.
• Background in service design, interaction storytelling, or motion prototyping.
• Experience supporting platform teams, system architecture, or internal evangelism.
• Familiarity with design systems, iconography creation, or visual frameworks.
• Ability to prototype animations showing multi-device interactions.
• Experience working in cross-cultural, multi-BU environments.
