The Traffic Attendant maintains the flow of traffic in a safe and efficient manner while utilizing hang signals or other methods of communication to direct vehicle activity and promote a safe environment.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Completed a Flagging Certification Course Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Recertified every two years per certification Experience REQUIRED: Previous experience working as a flagger Experience PREFERRED: I year experience Education/training REQUIRED: I year experience Education/training PREFERRED: N/A Independent action(s) required: Must be able to conduct traffic control with little or no supervision during the course of a day Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Expected to work in all types of weather Age Specific groups served: N/A Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate): Physical: Lifting 20-50 lbs Activities: Prolonged standing, Walking (distance), Repetitive motion Mental/Sensory: Reasoning, Problem-solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking Emotional: Steady pace, Able to handle multiple priorities, Frequent and intense customer interactions, Able to adapt to frequent change
