The Opportunity
 

The Cloud Engineer / DevOps is responsible for implementing cloud designs, deploying application hosting environments on the GCP Engineering platform. Key responsibilities include configuring automation, ensuring efficient cloud service consumption, managing monitoring and reporting, and serving as the primary infrastructure contact for projects. This role involves maintaining cloud standards aligned with strategic goals and tactical needs.

The Engineering IT team serves as the vital link between corporate IT and Design Engineering. We provide engineers with the infrastructure needed to perform their work, managing servers, workstations, networks, and essential software for company development. Our team analyzes challenges and delivers state-of-the-art technology solutions to address their problems effectively.

What You Will Do

  • Deploy and manage VPC environments and cloud instances.

  • Collaborate on security controls with NetSecOps.

  • Evaluate and recommend new GCP capabilities.

  • Manage users and access within the cloud platform.

  • Develop monitoring and reporting solutions.

  • Document standards for GCP services.

  • Advocate and communicate cloud platform capabilities.

  • Provide Tier-2 support for incident resolution.

  • Automate network security policies.

  • Manage and optimize cloud storage solutions, including Google Cloud Storage and NetApp.

What You Will Need

  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, design and management of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.

  • Cloud Foundation: Enterprise Hub-and-Spoke Architecture, GCP foundations.

  • Application Foundation: Cloud Functions, Nasuni, NetApp, Google Storage.

  • Observability: Google Cloud Operations
