The Position
This senior role is heading Saxo’s Marketing function in our Tokyo office, while being fully integrated into the global Marketing organisation in Copenhagen HQ. It is a business-critical role – both in terms of strategy and execution – with the responsibility to devise, plan, implement and maintain a marketing, communications and PR strategies that support the local growth ambitions and global business strategy.
As our Japanese Head of Marketing, you will focus on developing Saxo’s Private/Retail business in Japan, but you will occasionally support key Institutional initiatives where relevant. You will be a key member of the global Go To Market team and the local Commercial team, reporting to the Head of Go To Market in HQ and the COO of Saxo Bank Japan.
You will own the Japanese marketing strategy, calendar, budget, and media plan with the mandate and responsibility to position the Saxo brand for traders and investors in Japan, to grow new and existing business, and to evolve Saxo’s way of doing marketing in a priority market for the Group.
The role is located at our Tokyo office and will lead a team of two marketing and communication professionals, while coordinating HQ functions for content production, media buying and web development.

Owner of the external Saxo Bank brand, promoter of brand awareness and reputation

Owner of external communications and public relations
Develop and implement the Japan marketing strategy
Develop Go To Market plans to support the commercial roadmap
Deliver commercial initiatives from brief to finish (i.e. product launches, campaigns, etc.
Oversee and develop relations with key opinion leaders, affiliates and partnerships
Responsibility and accountability for the Japan marketing budget, ensure that it is deployed to achieve maximum ROI across all marketing activities and channels
Responsible for the development of engaging and relevant content for campaigns and brand awareness activities
Provide critical research on competition, regulation and market conditions to inform the business for product development and new service offerings.
Continuously analyze the website data using analytical tools such as Adobe and be able to interpret and present the website performance and also the performance against the key performance indicators, and be able to implement corrective measures to continuously improve key KPIs such as #visitors, #leads, #funded clients and #newly trading clients as well as #social sharing of the content.
Responsible for developing and maintaining influencer and affiliate business which directly contributes in improving key KPIs such as visitors, leads, new funded clients and new traded clients along with all key KPIs falling under branding, awareness and website
Coordinate activities with the in-house media and web teams to grow the lead generation engine and improve conversion rates
Collaborate with creative, web, PR and digital engagement teams to bring an intuitive and compelling onboarding experience to market. (Brief, review, and approve deliverables of related workstreams)
Collaborate with commercial teams to deliver and optimize interaction with our investment platforms (onboarding improvements, journey improvements, promo offerings, USP and message definition, etc.)
What you need to succeed
Solid knowledge of the financial industry and investment services
Experience with marketing campaign planning, execution and evaluation
Excellent stakeholder management skills to navigate a complex corporate environment and C-level counterparts
In-depth understanding of digital and offline marketing for client acquisition
Outstanding project management skills. You thrive in complexity and can manage numerous projects and collaborators at the same time
You are highly structured and you can set clear plans and goals for your team and collaborators
You are fluent in Japanese and English and can navigate an international and diverse company
You are motivated by working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with ambitious goals
