Salesforce Inc. seeks Senior Data Center Engineer in Mclean, VA:

Job Duties: Drive innovation in the data center at Salesforce as well as across the industry. Review designs of future spaces for operational uptime and reliability. Prepare conceptual design documents, as needed, to collaborate with key stakeholders illustrating all physical and logical requirements. Review data center commissioning scripts and participate in commissioning activities as needed (e.g. Integrated Systems Test). Prepare cost analysis and business cases for white space retrofits and infrastructure improvements. Oversee mechanical build-out of white space to meet schedule, deployment needs, system flexibility, and growth. Optimize physical arrangement of compute, storage, and networking equipment within racks and white spaces based on network, power, and space, and cooling requirements. Collaborate with Salesforce Hardware Engineering to understand future deployments and data center requirements. Collaborate with internal teams in setting standards for white space and rack design optimization. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.

Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related quantitative discipline OR Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related quantitative discipline, and (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in a related field.

A related technical degree required (Mechanical Engineering or related quantitative discipline).

Special Skill Requirements: (1) CAD software experience (e.g. Solidworks, AutoCAD, or AutoDesk, etc.); (2) CFD Simulations and Analysis (e.g. ANSYS Fluent, or COMSOL Multiphysics, etc.); (3) Data Center and Electronic Cooling Design and Technologies; (4) Mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) experience; (5) Programming language (e.g. Matlab, Python, Java, or JASON, etc.); (6) Project Management experience; and (7) Vendor Engagement. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.

Salary: $151,800.00 - $208,800.00 per annum.
