Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer performs engineering duties related to the design, development, and modification of machines, systems, units, and components. This role applies sound engineering judgment while considering manufacturing feasibility, cost, safety, and operational performance. The Mechanical Engineer supports product development, manufacturing, and field operations while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Design and modify complex machines, sections, systems, and units to meet business and customer requirements
Prepare machine layouts, detailed designs, and models using CAD tools
Evaluate complex designs and implement engineering changes as required
Develop Bills of Material (BOMs), assembly drawings, schematics, and detailed part drawings for complex equipment
Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams during build and integration
Manage and maintain accurate and complete project files and engineering documentation
Support field service teams by providing technical assistance and troubleshooting as needed
Assist in leading, mentoring, or coaching less experienced engineers and designers
Perform other duties as assigned
Ability to competently perform all Mechanical Engineer II responsibilities
Comprehensive knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
Strong working knowledge of:
Mathematics including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and calculus
Physics principles and their application to mechanical systems
Mechanical systems, machines, tools, and equipment design, use, repair, and maintenance
Engineering design techniques, tools, and principles for producing plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
Manufacturing methods, raw materials, quality control, and cost analysis
Experience in machine component selection and validation
Proficiency with CAD software
Strong engineering problem-solving and analytical skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Typically 4–6 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related product development roles
