The Opportunity
This position works out of our La Sabana, San Jose, Costa Rica location in the Core Lab. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
As the Technical Service Specialist, you’ll maintain in optimum condition all the teams of the division in the assigned territory.
What You’ll Do
Responsible for the timely and efficient realization of the technical work assigned by the area supervisor in coordination with the division’s necessities.
Report, document and follow up on the complaints generating the corresponding report complying with the quality policies.
Know and utilize the service work tools provided by the company for the development of activities regarding customer service.
Comply with the annual objectives regarding capacitation and development, applying the acquired knowledge in the effective and efficient diagnostics and repairs. This way guaranteeing and integral repair of the instrument and contribute to the rentability of the company, keeping a minimum operative cost.
Fulfill the administrative tasks to contribute to the customer service operation in compliance with the established policies.
Provide preventive maintenance, corrective services and installations on a regular basis without the local technical support.
Receive constant training in the instrument platforms.
Required Qualifications
University, bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
0 to 3 years of experience in medical and laboratory equipment service.
Must have experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in diagnostic industries.
Digital Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Language skills: fluent in English, written and verbal.
Travel: 25% of the time.
Fieldwork: 90% of the time.
