Description
As Facilities Engineering Support at Caterpillar Inc., you will directly support Facilities Engineering and Maintenance on Facility Campus through design and documentation of layout, vendor management, project management, handling systems, safety, and ergonomics and other duties as assigned. Job duties may include, but are not limited to:
Provide facilities support to the Clayton and Smithfield facilities as needed including equipment repairs, janitorial concerns, office upgrades/improvements, project management, preventative maintenance of production equipment.
Develops Scope of Work which detail processing steps and procedures, identified component parts, specifies technical aspects of part installation or application and identifies facility improvement projects.
Performs changes and updates to standard work schedules and other relevant assembly procedures based on Engineering input.
May create documentation required for capital maintains both capital and expense budget accounts.
Follows and utilizes Caterpillar Production System principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
Relies on independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks.
Must meet deadlines.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
Use Engineering prints and release notices to troubleshoot equipment failures and area of improvement.
Develop layouts using CAD system and identifies material locations.
Utilizes systems such as CAD, SAP, and Team Center.
Cross-functional communication to complete tasks.
Provide summaries to leadership.
Contributing team member
Will be responsible to run industrial equipment, such as forklift, aerial lift, etc.
Required to work overtime, weekends and and/or holidays as needed
Basic Qualifications
12 months of Facility Maintenance / Mechanical / Assembly Experience
Project Management Experience
Top Candidates will also have
Blueprint reading and/or Auto CAD experience
Technical degree or diploma/certificate
Operations / Industrial / Maintenance / Planning Experience
Advanced Computer and Caterpillar Systems Knowledge / Microsoft Project
Understanding of the Assembly Planning Systems
Effective Communication
Strong analytical skills
Problem identification and solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills
Computer literate-Strong math background
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Additional Information
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Thursday, Fridays as needed) OT required for breakdown maintenance and project work
Starting pay rate: $26.37
