IT Specialist

Role Overview:  

We are seeking a highly motivated IT Specialist to support our global manufacturing applications and ensure the stability of production‑critical systems at our Pétfürdő plant. In this role, you will serve as a crucial link between frontline support teams and engineering functions within a dynamic Operational Technology (OT) environment.

As an IT Specialist, you will play a central role in maintaining and supporting global applications and production systems. This is a fully onsite position, where your expertise directly contributes to safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations every single day.

Role Responsibilities: 

As an IT Specialist you will be responsible for: 

Manufacturing Application & OT Support

  • Providing support for global and special manufacturing applications.
  • Troubleshooting Windows and software issues across local and remote sites.
  • Supporting desktops, laptops, tablets, rugged industrial devices.
  • Supporting barcode scanners, label printers, PLC terminals, HMIs, and thin clients.
  • Restarting, recovering, and reconfiguring production PCs and control interfaces.
  • Diagnosing issues when machines or systems stop reporting data.
  • Supporting integration between IT and OT networks.
  • Applying patches and updates to industrial PCs without disrupting production.

Network & Connectivity Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshooting switches, access points, and industrial Ethernet.
  • Supporting wired and wireless shop-floor connectivity.
  • Monitoring network health and escalating to network engineers when needed.
  • Supporting connectivity for remote sites, warehouses, and production lines.

Security & Stability

  • Managing antivirus and endpoint protection settings.
  • Monitoring systems for malware or unusual behavior.
  • Ensuring cybersecurity awareness within supported systems.

Incident Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Handling high-impact production incidents and providing on-call emergency support.
  • Responding to production stoppages, network outages, and cyber incidents.
  • Performing root cause analysis and writing incident reports.
  • Identifying recurring issues and proposing long-term fixes.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Projects & Maintenance

  • Supporting system migrations and upgrades.
  • Coordinating downtime windows with operations teams.
  • Managing hardware replacements and upgrades.

Experience and Competencies: 

We are looking for experienced candidates with strong technical understanding of manufacturing environments and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced plant setting.

What we are looking for: 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience working within an ITIL framework, preferably in an on‑site support or OT environment, with detailed knowledge of both the theory and operational aspects of ITIL processes.
  • Experience working in a multinational manufacturing environment (highly preferred).
  • Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing, highly complex, and technical environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for production systems, industrial devices, and connectivity.
  • Broad knowledge of IT hardware, software, and infrastructure concepts.
  • Demonstrated commitment to standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Strong customer focus, communication skills, and structured problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure, especially during production incidents.
  • Proactive mindset and capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies and interest in continuous learning.
  • Fluency in Hungarian and English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to work onsite daily in the Pétfürdő plant.
