Job Description

RBCx pursues big, bold ideas and leverages RBC’s extensive experience, networks, and capital to help shape what’s next. Our four pillars – Banking, Capital, Platform, and Ventures – combine to support tech businesses of all sizes and stages, making us the go-to backer of Canadian innovation. Our people are our most valuable assets, so we invest deeply in ensuring RBCx isn’t just a place to work but a place to belong.

About Dr.Bill

Dr.Bill is the largest dedicated medical billing provider in Canada, serving 11,000+ physicians and healthcare professionals in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta. Fully owned by RBC, Dr.Bill is part of the RBCx portfolio. That makes working at Dr.Bill the best of both worlds: our people enjoy the benefits of working for a big company plus the speed and energy of working for a scaling venture.

Dr.Bill doesn’t exist just to facilitate faster, more accurate medical billing for doctors (although we do that very well indeed!). Our greater goal is to improve the lives of Canada’s hardworking doctors—freeing them to spend more time focused on their patients and personal lives. It is our sincere belief that by modernizing healthcare technology like medical billing, we can improve the lives of doctors, thereby improving quality of care for patients, ultimately helping to create a healthier Canada.

What is the opportunity?

Dr.Bill is looking to hire an Event & Community Manager who will be accountable for building, scaling and activating meaningful community and event programs that drive engagement, brand affinity, and pipeline growth. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, sales, and partnerships and plays a critical role in how Dr.Bill shows up for medical professionals across Canada.

You will own the end-to-end planning and execution of Dr.Bill’s events and community initiatives including conferences, virtual programming, sponsorships, and physician community partnerships. Working cross functionally, you’ll ensure these initiatives support broader GTM objectives, strengthen customer relationships, and reinforce Dr.Bill’s position as a trusted partner to Canada’s medical community.

What will you do?

  • Own the planning and execution of Dr.Bill’s event calendar, including national industry conferences, regional events, sponsorships, and virtual experiences.
  • Manage events end-to-end: budgeting, logistics, vendor management, on-site execution, and post-event reporting.
  • Partner closely with Sales to design events that support pipeline generation and new customer acquisition.
  • Collaborate with others on the Marketing team on messaging, content and promotion to maximize event and community impact.
  • Ensure all events and community touchpoints deliver a consistent, high-quality brand experience aligned with Dr.Bill’s values and positioning.
  • Act as a brand ambassador within the physician community, both at in-person events as well as online.
  • Define success metrics for event initiatives and use insights and feedback to continuously optimize programming and investment decisions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholder groups within RBC to uncover partnership and event opportunities that drive overall enterprise value.
  • Use social media to activate, support and extend event and community initiatives, driving awareness, participation, and ongoing engagement before, during and after events.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing team to translate community and event insights into relevant social content that resonates with physicians and healthcare professionals.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in events, community, experiential marketing, or partnerships, ideally within B2B SaaS
  • Proven track record of planning and executing high-quality events, from small community gatherings to large industry conferences
  • Experience building and managing professional communities, either online or in-person
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with comfort engaging senior stakeholders and external partners
  • A highly collaborative growth mindset and experience working cross functionally with Sales, Marketing and Customer teams to drive collective business impact

Nice to have:

  • Experience working within large, matrixed organizations
  • Existing knowledge of Canadian healthcare system

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • Opportunities to do challenging work
