Position Summary

Job Title: Sales Excellence PMO Lead
Location: NYC only

Summary:

Effective sales data management, metrics, and indicators are essential for the success of any revenue-generating organization. The Sales Excellence PMO is the "quarterback" responsible for establishing and reporting business metrics for the sales teams. They will develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and management by objectives (MBOs), track their completion by the sales teams, and ultimately drive the desired behaviors. The ideal candidate will have a background in consulting, ideally with experience in media, advertising, sales operations, or revenue-related projects, and will be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Set, own, deliver, and track sales metrics and MBOs across several high-priority initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to,

    Work cross-functionally to create and report on key business metrics.

    Develop a series of MBOs to drive best-in-class seller behavior.

    Develop and maintain project documentation (notes, Confluence pages, etc.)

  • Partner cross-functionally with day-to-day and senior stakeholders

    Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

    Integrate work and updates provided by partners into overall reporting.

    Follow up, where needed, with sales individuals to monitor success

  • Own senior reporting and analysis on projects

    Prepare and deliver project reports to senior stakeholders

    Interpret data to paint a picture of what is and is not working within the sales organization.

    Incorporate data and insights from several sources (Salesforce, Tableau, DOMO, Gong).

Sample Projects

  • Revamping the measurement of individual seller MBOs / OKRs.
  • Pulling Salesforce data to consolidate and present data on sales progress.
  • Implementing Gong and utilizing its data to improve seller metrics and behaviors.
  • Measuring the progress and impact of Account Plans.
  • Using or building custom reports in Tableau/Salesforce to show outcomes.
  • Preparing PowerPoint and Excel analyses for executives to inform decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in project management, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Excellence in slideware and executive communications 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to balance very detailed views and outreach with strategic executive insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Slack, Salesforce, and data visualization software (Tableau, DOMO)
  • PMP or similar certification is preferred

Ideal Candidate:

  • 6+ years advising sales, media, marketing, or consulting clients on PMO-related work
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, slideware)
  • Enjoys working cross-functionally with various teams (Sales, Product, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, etc.)
  • Enjoys owning outcomes and seeing projects through from end to end 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions
  • Passion for sales and a commitment to customer satisfaction

Skills and Qualifications

• Experienced professional with full understanding on specialized areas; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways

• Works on problems of diverse scope where analyzing data requires evaluating identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments

• Typically requires minimum 5 years' of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience
