he Director, Operations Program Management will be responsible for defining, managing, and driving execution of strategic program initiatives across the Gate Gourmet Operations network. Key activities include developing and executing program governance, tracking project level status and program status for executive review, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions, tracking actual vs plan and adjusting forecasts accordingly, and managing data collection and reporting and creating and executing overall program communications standards for projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manages the project initialization and prioritization planning with key stakeholders for the COO 

  • Ensures implementation of projects in compliance with all related processes to achieve targets (cost, timing, deliverables) and customer satisfaction  

  • Manages project/resource interdependencies and recommends/executes issue resolution  

  • The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to:  

  • Establish project objectives and define requirements to support the financial, compliance, consistency, and customer satisfaction objectives of Operations 

  • Create, coordinate, and/or review detailed written proposals for new initiatives to secure executive support and approvals 

  • Develop project milestones and manage detailed project plans to drive execution and accountability  

  • Communicate project status updates to key stakeholders and leadership teams within the Operations and Functional leadership teams as applicable 

  • Manage cross-functional project teams and drive closure on action items and deliverables 

  • Manage, mitigate and communicate program risks 

  • Supports development of new Operations Planning and Controlling Function 

  • Works closely with Operational Excellence to implement robust performance management systems to measure and manage operational performance  

  • Key cost savings programs and performance against targets 

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to track material and labor costs  

  • Financial trends, define and initiate corrective measures  

  • Liaises with other functional organizations (e.g., Finance) to support project reporting requirements  

  • Presents critical information (business risk vs. reward) to support complex decision making 

  • Establishes and maintains a professional working relationship at multiple levels by understanding the stakeholder’s business context and unique situation   

  • Develops common tools and reporting templates 

  • Other duties as may be required 

  

Qualifications 

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree with preference for engineering, data decisions, operations management, economics, finance or accounting 

 

Work Experience:  

  • 15+ years’ work experience with preference for functional background in consulting, project management, finance, or operations planning and industry background in aviation, airline catering, or manufacturing sectors 

  • Strong safety experience is required

 

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration) 

  • Expert skill level in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in operations simulation or linear programming a plus. 

  • Strong financial and analytical skills including experience in statistics, report building, and creating complex financial and project management tools/models  

  • Strong understanding of operations efficiency metrics and tools 

  • Proactive, hands-on and results-driven attitude 

  • Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously 

  • Ability to demonstrate business drive with focus on delivering results 

  • Excellent communicator at all levels including high quality presentation materials for presentation to Senior Management  

 

  Language / Communication Skills: 

  •   Proficient in English, any other language would be an asset
